Our commitment to environmental sustainability

To help safeguard our ecosystem, we understand that we need to act now and in a systemic way. That is why our company has developed strategies and equipment to reduce as much as possible the carbon footprint our activities can leave on the planet.

Since 2008 we have started to make our company more ecofriendly, when on the initiative of Pierino Maestri our company installed of a 35,20-kWh photovoltaic system, which produces an average of about 33,000 kWh per year, or 35-40% of the company’s needs.

This was just the first step toward more sustainable energy production: we will soon install a new 56 kWh photovoltaic system, but the goal is to reach 130 kWh.

Still about energy, we have purchased two electric cars in the past two years, and a charging station has been installed in the parking lot.

In addition, we plan for the next few months to completely redo the lighting in the company, upgrading the system to ensure optimal lighting in the sheds and achieve savings of about 60 percent. This improvement will then also be made in the lighting system in the office building.

Already in 2019, two major sustainability interventions were carried out: in January, all asbestos roofing was replaced with multilayer insulated panels, reducing energy losses in the warehouses and increasing safety for the operators; a few months later, a new laser cutting plant took the place of an old plasma sheet metal cutting plant, significantly optimizing the production process and eliminating a point of emission into the atmosphere.
